A 15-year-old basketball player Jomani aka Jojo Wright, a sophomore at Uniondale High School, lost his life in a car accident a few months back, leaving his friends and family members saddened and devastated to the core.

He had a charismatic personality, and everyone used to love the way he played on the court. He was one of the best basketball players at Uniondale High School, with an average of 19 points each game during the freshman season.

Jojo’s dad Joe Wright told reporters, “I can’t believe it ended this way.” “His mind was set on being a pro,” he added.

He was certainly an inspiration for other kids, and they used to look up to him. He was a great player with a big heart, and everyone at Heat Elite used to cherish his company on and off the court.

Heat Elite Lost A Gem

Jojo was heading to a local gym with his friends when an old driver hit their car. He was brought to Nassau University Medical Center immediately, where he was pronounced dead. The other day members of the Uniondale Knights showed a tribute to Jojo at the school’s gym and reiterated with a broken heart that he was one of the best players and even a better person.

All the other victims, including the driver who caused the accident, were taken to a hospital in the vicinity. They were instantly treated for non-life-threatening injuries. All of them were later reported to be in stable condition.

In Memory of Jojo Wright

In the loving memory of Jojo Wright, the members at Heat Elite paid their utmost respect and condolences to the bereaved family. Also, Heat Elite started a donation campaign and requested everyone to participate and bring a huge difference with their small donations. All the proceeds went right to the Wright family.

Also, Heat Elite initiated a Jojo Wright scholarship fund. Under this program, $2500 shall be awarded to an athlete every year to bear their educational expenses besides playing basketball.

Nick Tsikitas, the founder of Heat Elite, believes that by promoting basketball and encouraging children to participate in basketball programs, we can keep Jojo alive. When we see children playing basketball, Jojo’s thoughts pop up in the back of our minds, and we can’t let go of his thoughts. Albeit he is not among us, but he will never be forgotten.

Role of Heat Elite in Basketball Promotion

Nick Tsikitas, along with his dedicated team of professionals at Heat Elite, are prone to create opportunities for the talented youth of New York whose talent goes unnoticed and unappreciated.

At Heat Elite, qualified coaches provide a profound counseling session to the young athletes, help them figure out a purpose in life, and assist them with their personal and professional endeavors. Experienced coaches properly train all these children and showcase their talent by organizing various basketball competitions.

Conclusion

Although Jojo is no more among us, and we miss his absence day in day out; however, we can drive his dream forward and make pro basketball players out of the local kids. Nick Tsikitas is determined to carry Jojo’s dream forward through Heat Elite.
