Nicholas Tsikitas

Head Coach & Founder of “HEAT”

Personal Mission Statement: “To develop young men into not only great basketball players but to develop them into complete young men that can achieve success beyond the basketball court.”

The Heat: This is something near and dear to my heart. Our club sets out to benefit youth through the sport of basketball. It was established to teach and pass down life lessons to youth not only on the court, but off the court as well.

 

Coaching Strengths: Know how in building a successful organization from the top down. How to find the right Coaches and work with them together in driving the program to success. A great teacher of the game.Great working relationship with both my Coaches and players. Skilled in instructing at all levels of play. Excellent in building strategies to draw maximum advantages for the team. Skilled in evaluating players' strength and weaknesses.

 

Knowledge of placing players according to his or her strengths. Outstanding professionalism in developing and maintaining public relations. Exceptional interpersonal, coordination and communication skills.

 

Establishing great relationships with all my players. Strong insights into safety and muscle-building programs. Excellent communication and on-site assistance skills.

 

Coaching up players who are less confident and/or underperforming. Creating scouting reports for the players. Breaking down film in successfully developing a game plan.

 

Knowledge for fostering players behaviors and coordination skills. Familiar with the basketball rulebook and fundamentals of the game.

Coach Cotumaccio

Basketball Director/ Personal Trainer

Coach has had a very impressive basketball career for over 30 years at the high levels of competition. He has coached at the High School Level, AAU Circuit, and CYO. He has also been a Director of Basketball Camps and Showcases for esteemed organizations both Nationally and Internationally which include Five Star, Hoop Group, Hoop Mountain and Adidas Camps throughout the years. Internationally he directed and worked camps in Switzerland, Italy, Spain and the Dominican Republic.  During his coaching career, Coach Cotumaccio has coached the NBA likes of  Jokiam Noah, Ron Artest; Stephan Marbury; Felipe Lopez, Troy Murphy, Royal Ivey, Rafer Alston, and Tim Thomas.He was part of the LaSalle Academy winning the NYC CHSAA City Championship, instrumental in LaSalle Academy being ranked #2 in the Nation in 1997, winning Two National Championships with the Bronx Gauchos, coaching in the NYPSAL City Championship while at Cardoza HS, and winning a number of tournaments on the AAU and CYO level. Coach Cotumaccio’ ability to develop, motivate, connect and teach basketball players is second to none. His passion and knowledge for the game become an extension to his players.

Coach Jim Gatto

Head Consultant

Coach Gatto has achieved over 500 wins in nearly 40 years of high school coaching. His teams have won numerous New York City CHSAA Division and League titles. Coach Gatto has been honored by the Frank McGuire Foundation and the National Pro-Am Organization. He is a member of the New York City CHSAA Hall of Fame and the Old Timers Basketball Hall of Fame. He has coached in the Wheelchair Classic, and coached the NY-NJ All -Stars vs. the US All-Stars in a summer classic. He has been named New York State Catholic School Coach of the Year and Coach of the Year by the league and media many times. His teams won three New York City titles.

Regis College Basketball team Captain as a Sophomore who exemplifies leadership abilities by being a Resident Assistant(RA) and remaining humble by being a volunteer at a  Big Brother Big sister program while balancing the rigorous. 

 

Most Valuable Player for St Dominic Varsity Basketball team - (2013-2015).

 

Most Valuable Player at the Brother Arnold Tournament at McClancy High school (2014).

 

Most Valuable Player at St John The Baptist Holiday Classic (2014). NSCHSAA All Leauge second team (2013-2014) season. NSCHSAA All Leauge First team (2014-2015) season.
